Not Just for Babies
Calendula and Chamomile drying for a fresh batch of teas.
These two herbs are mostly associated with newborns and their diaper rashes or toddlers and their fussiness. As much as they definitely help little bum bums and small temper tantrums, these plants are much more powerful than just that.
Chamomile in Folk tradition was a popular “to go” remedy in most households. From fever to indigestion, to nervousness, pain & sadness, this plant was used as a tea, tincture, herbal bath, smudge, poultice or oil. This sweet, gentle looking flower is a strong remedy to many diverse illnesses that occur either at young or old ages.
Calendula is one of the most powerful ally to the lymphatic glands that become stagnant or swollen. According to Matthew Woods this plant gets to the place where sun cannot reach (just think of armpits and all the glands that are hidden in there). This beautiful bright flower doesn’t work forcefully or fast but when it is specifically indicated it will clear the lymphatic stagnation. Calendula is skin food. Great for scrapes, burns & rashes. It provides gentle nourishment for dry days in summer.
