Ingredients Matter
My journey into making plant remedies began with a deep love for plants. I cherish every step of the process, from sowing seeds to nurturing their growth, to harvesting them with care. However, my passion for plants wasn't the only reason I ventured into creating my own healing remedies.
I wanted complete transparency and control over the medicines I use. By making remedies myself, I know exactly how each medicine is made, from the ingredients used to the methods of preparation. This journey starts with planting seeds and extends through harvesting and processing at the right times, using only organic menstruums, and ensuring everything is stored in glass, avoiding plastic entirely.
One powerful example of this dedication is my use of castor oil. When organic, hexane-free, and stored in non-plastic containers, castor oil is a potent medicine. I trust Queen of Thrones castor oil for its high integrity and careful infusion of selected plants to create a healing, pain-relieving, and preventative medicine.
A significant reason for making my own remedies was my distrust of many companies' lack of integrity in producing herbal medicine. I was uneasy about using dried plants of unknown origin, stored in plastic containers, and processed with various questionable menstruums. Taking control of the entire medicine-making process, from start to finish, has been incredibly empowering.
I'm particularly thrilled about using Pixie Mead’s beautiful alcohol in my remedies. Their commitment to quality and integrity aligns perfectly with my values. I use their honey shine, a 190-proof spirit distilled from honey, which not only extracts the healing properties of herbs but is a remarkable medicine in itself. It's inspiring to see the love, care, and integrity that people like Benjamin Pixie put into their products, reflecting a deep respect for nature.
Creating my own remedies ensures that I can provide the highest quality, most transparent, and effective medicines for myself and those I care for. It's a journey of passion, trust, and profound connection to the natural world.
