It is sometimes called the Bear medicine because of its oily, furry and fuzzy roots.
Burdock is one of my favorite plants, and it is strongly connected to Saturn. This plant has a very strong Earth correspondence, which relates to Capricorn.
Burdock root is mostly used for detoxifying liver, blood and through that, also our skin organ. Excellent for those who suffer from a leaky gut.
The very oily root of this potent medicine helps to regulate oils in the body. Because it is a mild, bitter tonic, it doesn’t cool down the body dramatically. Ginger can be added as a formula for those with excess of Earth element.
Burdock can be used for damp stagnation and congestion in a liver. It can be taken as a tincture for a strong medicine. Fresh root can also be added to soups or bone broths.
